A little insight from Coach Chris..
I was once described by a coach much greater than myself as having a Ferrari engine in a metro shell.
It was a bit of an insult, but it’s true.
What the hell was he on about!?
He meant I have the muscles to produce lots of power and strength, much like a Ferrari engine. Unfortunately these muscles are used with inadequate movement patterns and are supported by tendons and joints that are not up to the job of harnessing this power, much like a metro shell wouldn’t be up to the job.
It means I regularly get injured as I lack the control and support that I need.
For years I ignored the basics as many guys do, I didn’t know or understand them. I thought I knew everything and so did the other guys I trained with, all we cared about was putting weight on the bar. Letting form slide, and laughing off indications that the wheels were coming off.
How times have Changed
I’m paying the price constantly trying to prevent and fix injuries that have been years in the making, making sure I cover all the basics I’ve been lacking.
Trying to master efficient movement, using all the right muscles, and strengthen all the supporting areas that I didn’t care or know about before.
Not to mention spending years learning everything I didn’t know, and the realisation that I will always continue learning but can always know more.
Most importantly I have learnt from my mistakes, and as a coach I will never ever make these mistakes with anyone I work with.
This is my integrity and it’s something that won’t let me down, if you don’t want to work on mastering the fundamentals so you can keep doing this forever, then I’m not the coach for you.
P.S - If you do want to do this forever, you’re gonna need to know what you’re doing, or work with someone who does - Get in touch.
Do you know that Every day Counts..?
Our deepest fear is finding out that one day there will be no places to hide from the fact that we are getting more overweight and unable to keep up with the kids.
So we decide to look for a gym or a personal trainer.
The thing is I wrestle with the same fears every day
I put on a brave face even though I sometimes feel in myself that I'm also struggling.
As a lot of people who are on any fitness journey, they are born from the same idea...we want to be better than we were yesterday..
The problem is that you start to make assumptions on what you want by listening to the media and what everybody else tells you about how you should look and feel.
Which makes us resist trying to go too far away from the expected norms of diet shakes and hitt classes because the price of failure is high.
We restrict what we eat and we smash ourselves to pieces in the gym and it still doesn't work.....why..?
It's a lot to do with your thought process and your mindset..
Our tagline is “The body achieves what the mind believes....”
If you get your mind right your body you want will want to follow.

Is your Personal Trainer a liar..?
One of the things that strikes me with most Personal Trainers is that they never have a story of them being out of shape...are they telling the truth…?
Now don't get me wrong, im sure most of them have always been in good nick and never pissed off with life, so then could it be true that all Personal Trainers are born with a 6 pack...?
Or are they just talking bullshit..?
>>So i decided to out someone and tell their real story<<
The story of how it is not easy to get fit and stay fit.
The story of how stress can make you bloated
The story of the nights on the beer getting pissed to block out the shit times....who could this be...??
Now that i have peaked your interest you may be wondering, who is this trainer..??
Who did i research to give you an idea of the real them..??
>>>>That trainer i researched is me...
This is me (see below) when I was at my lowest
On the left is me around 14 years ago, I was a serving Physical Trainer in the armed forces and was a bit chunky to say the least.
At the time of this picture I was in a bad way, a bad relationship and a bit of a daft lad who drank and ate too much.
The stress I put my body under, through neglect and handling it with beer was immense, it was the worst and most unhealthy I have ever been
Today it's a different story, the picture on the right is me loving what I have right now.
A great relationship with fantastic family/friends and limited visits to the boozer
What this shows is that genetics don't make you unhealthy and fat, it's your lifestyle stress, relationships and bad nutrition choices that make you fat.
All you need to know is that everyone has their own private journey and that, when you are ready to change and admit that it is you who is at fault..... We will be waiting to help
